Snow days are "just no" days.

Haven't seen a day above freezing in three weeks? Don't worry, I haven't either which is why I feel that I am not equipped to share with you the secrets of surviving the coldest days. Walking anywhere, let alone class, is rough in this weather, but if you bundle up enough you might make it through the day without your tears turning to ice while thinking about all the work you have.

1. As soon as you wake up, change into two pairs of leggings and a pair of sweatpants.

Maybe even add a layer of super comfy pajama pants.

2. Then put on a tank top, two shirts, and a sweatshirt.

There is no such thing as too many layers.

3. Make sure you have a huge blanket scarf to put on next.

If you don't have a wearable blanket, any scarf will do.

4. Don't forget to start boiling water for hot chocolate now.

A cup of hot chocolate a day keeps the cold away.

5. After you pour yourself a cup, get on those gloves.

10/10 would recommend the furry Urban Outfitter gloves.

6. Put on your puffy winter jacket.

You probably feel like a marshmallow, but a warm marshmallow.

7. Crank the heat as high as it goes.

Even if your heater makes a noise that makes you think it might catch on fire any second crank it all the way up.

8. Get back in bed.

Did you actually think you were leaving?

9. Pull the covers all the way up.

Form the perfect Netflix and nap cocoon.

10. Wrap yourself in another blanket.

Bonus warmth if you have a heated blanket.

11. Do not leave unless your GrubHub order arrives.

I mean, I wish I was kidding but really, there is no need to move when it is this cold outside.

12. Come up for air or for another cup of hot cocoa or for your second GrubHub order to come.

Again, it is too cold to actually do anything so might as well just embrace.

13. Think about how close summer is.

The beach. Music festivals. Driving with the windows down. Yes, summer is soon.

14. Remember that tomorrow is supposed to have a feel of -6 degrees, but also remember that tomorrow is no longer the weekend and you have class.

Repeat steps 1-6, but this time find the door and not your bed. Good luck in the cold - you got this!

Turns out, the best way to avoid the cold is really just to hibernate. Next time you think you want to leave rethink and head back to bed. If you have to actually go outside make sure that you bundle up with about a million layers!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
