We've all heard about the terrible terrorist attacks that have taken place in Paris by now. People across the U.S. are displaying their support and affection for the country at this devastating time of loss and mourning from these ISIS terrorist attacks. It's created a lot of fear in this country because people are wondering what will happen next, and it is causing fear which is understandable at a time like this. People are mad because Paris is receiving much more attention than other places. Even if people are focusing on Paris, nobody has the right to tell them not to.
I'm grieving and supporting Paris as they go through this and:
I Support Paris And, One Religion Is Not To Blame.
There are people in any faith who have hate in their hearts, but humanity needs to remember that there are many more who have love in their hearts. There are so many tweets, Facebook posts, and blogs that are blaming terrorist attacks on the importation of Muslims, but that is not the problem at all. Too many people are being judged based off of who people think they are, and that is not how the world should work. Fear should not be in place of trust. Hate should not be stronger than love. We have to come together and realize what the real problem is, and that we'll never be able to tell who it is based off of looking at someone. One religion should not take the blame for the same people they are running from.
I Support Paris But, I Didn't Forget About Japan.
A 7.0 earthquake has hit Japan and while none were killed, it triggered a tsunami warning. The immediate threat is gone, but they have multiple earthquakes a year. An earthquake in 2011 left 18,000 dead or missing and 230,000 have not returned to their homes since that earthquake and tsunami incident.
I Support Paris And, I Didn't Forget About Mexico.
On November 13, 2015, Mexico was hit with an earthquake. There are no reports of damage or injuries, but they still deserve to be recognized. They weren't forgotten in the grand scheme of things.
I Support Paris And, I Didn't Forget About Beirut.
Thursday, November 13, 2015, Beirut was attacked by a double suicide bombing in a mostly Shiite neighborhood. Around 40 were reported dead, and 200 reported wounded. This was also a terrorist attack that ISIS took claim for. This happened a day before the Paris attacks. There was barely any time to mourn for the lives lost before the next terrorist attack was made.
I Support Paris And, I Didn't Forget About Baghdad.
A suicide bomber went to a funeral and killed 19 people. They took advantage of a time where people were already mourning a death and created even more loss. It wounded at least 33 others. Many of the people attending were some of the strongest forces within the battle against ISIS.
I Support Paris And, I Didn't forget About Nigeria
We remember when everyone came together in support of the #BringBackOurGirls campaign. As time has passed, people have forgotten. In January 2015, 2000+ were killed in Baga, Nigeria. Boko Haram is still out there killing.
I Support Paris And, I Didn't Forget About Kenya.
Many are upset that when 147 people were killed at Garissa University College by terrorists back in April it did not get as much media coverage as Paris. It's important that we acknowledge and remember their suffering because nobody should ever be the victim of these attacks.
I Support Paris And, I Didn't Forget About People Suffering Around The World.
There are so many unfortunate tragedies that are happening in the world each and every day that we are unaware of because they do not get a lot of media coverage. I can't begin to cover them all in one sitting, and I wish I could.
All humans are hoping for a better world, so I hope people suffering around the world know that people are out there, we support you, and we're hoping for a future where lives aren't lost so easily. At the end of the day, it's not about me and it's not about you. It's about the people going through these things, and everyone needs to remember that.
