Whether we like to admit it or not, we all know that not all six of the FRIENDS were created equal, some just being better than the others. Here is my incredibly formal list ranking the popular characters in order from essentially worst to best.
6. Ross Geller
Sorry, Ross. Your constant whining and inability to commit put you last on this super official list. And by the way, even if you were “on a break,” sleeping with another woman hours after your girlfriend kind of sort of broke up with you is still a jerk move. Besides that, I guess you have provided viewers with plenty of laughs, i.e. when you got your leather pants stuck around your knees during a date, when you learned how to play the bagpipes, and when you clearly were not “fine.” But unfortunately for you, your insistence on being called “Dr. Geller” is just too annoying.
5. Monica Geller-Bing
Not far from her brother, Monica receives the number five spot on the list. Yes the Monica/Chandler cute couple thing is adorable, but that honestly is Monica’s most interesting plotline. Yeah the Richard drama was pretty intense, but let's be real that whole thing was weird. And who needs 11 categories for organizing towels? And who was the friend who lost their entire apartment because of a bet? Yep, Monica. Regardless of her overall "blah-ness," she was always a good friend, especially to Rachel.
4. Phoebe Buffay
It is no secret that Phoebe provides plenty of laughs on the show, i.e. her uncoordinated running through Central Park and her undeniable connection to the spiritual world. Her flighty yet sometimes hilariously serious attitude brings a different sort of humor to the group. But Phoebe is probably the main character that we see the least of throughout the show.
3. Rachel Green
As practically everyone knows, without Rachel the show would not have panned out as it did. She is such a key character and really is a good friend. She eventually got back on her feet after running away on her wedding day (yikes), but sometimes the Ross/Rachel drama just got obnoxious. But, she will forever be a style icon and she knew how to lighten up unfortunate situations. So, Rach, you rock, but we will never forgive you for the Paolo phase.
2. Joey Tribbiani
Joey is arguably the character that makes most of us say, “That’s so me.” I mean, the man does not share food, he uses a signature pick up line (don’t act like you don’t have one), and sometimes he just can’t seem to handle the craziness of life. He’s also incredibly funny. I mean, watching him try to hide the fact that Chandler and Monica were together was enough to have viewers crying from laughter.
1. Chandler Bing
Yup, you guessed it. Chandler is overall, the best FRIEND. He, like his BFF Joey, is also very relatable. He is so awkward that cringing is inevitable, but it just makes Chandler, Chandler. His sense of humor is side-splitting as well. He’s also incredibly selfless, like when he helps Joey financially. Plus, you can’t really beat his collegiate style that is seen in a number of flashbacks. Basically, if you’re looking to make a new friend, just compare them to Chandler Bing. He is, according to my very official rankings, the best out of the quite famous sextet.
