June 21st marked the first official day of summer 2k15. High School and College students finally find themselves in sync with their "summer schedules," graduations have occurred and now you're in full summer-swing. Whether you're working or just relaxing, your weekends and after-work activities now consist of pool and beach days, walking down your main avenue/street with an iced Starbucks drink in-hand, fun summer drinks overlooking the water with friends on Thursday nights, and family barbecues outside on Sundays. Because that's what summer is all about, right? Right?
Summer Expectations vs. Reality:
Scenario #1: How pumped are you to get that perfect summertime Instagram shot? It can't be that hard, right? Alexis Reneg and Jay Alavarrez do them all the time. "Mom, come take this pic of me! Here we go and...."
Scenario #2: Maybe the cover has been on your pool for months, or your friend has invited you over to test out the new super-hip pool floats they good that they saw all over tumblr... nonetheless, you're pumped about your pool day.
Scenario #3: Your skin has spent too long cooped up in pale-ville all winter. Now that the UV index is up, you lather the lotion and bake to the perfect golden brown.
Scenario #4: Crank out the summer playlist and grab your towel and beach bag with some ironic summer saying on it, no doubt. You do a quick temp-check, look outside and you know... it's time to hit the beach.
If your summer has been anything like mine, it's been chock-full of unanticipated teasing of rain and thunder and lightning storms.
Scenario #5: You've been working on your bikini bod and you're anxious to show the world via Instagram. Why not show off by sporting a "healthy mind, healthy body" yoga pose on the beach. It can't be all that hard...
Scenario #6: It's much easier during the summer to eat healthy and get into a routine of exercising. After all, like mentioned in scenario #5, you're working on your bikini-ready-bod, and 'tis the season for fresh fruit and light summer cooking.
Scenario #7: Those relaxing summer days leave you well-rested and energized...ready for any adventure.
