With summer approaching at a rapid pace, I'm finding myself feeling bittersweet about leaving Lexington for three months. With the last nine months taking place in what I like to call the greatest city on earth, I'm not sure how I'll survive three whole months away from my friends, our late night drives, and days of buying smoothies and enjoying the life of a student. It's almost surreal to think the year is coming to an end. It's also hard to believe I'm going to be entering my final year of undergrad next year. Where has the time gone?
It seems like just yesterday I was a junior in high school preparing to face my final year. I was mentally preparing myself for the senior research project, senior exit project, and many other things exclusive to senior year. While it seems like yesterday, it also seems like an eternity ago. It's so perplexing how much time can pass in the blink of an eye. To the juniors preparing to enter your senior year of high school, cherish every moment. Spend a few extra hours hanging out with your friends. Be reckless, but not too reckless. Enjoy life! To the high school seniors preparing to graduate, I promise you'll make it.
To my friends preparing to graduate from college in one short month, I am so proud of you. Some of you are going to vet school, some of you are entering the work force, some of you are going to grad school thousands of miles away. However, all of you share the same root at the University of Kentucky. You're going to do great things. Whether I know you through Residence Life, the College of Agriculture, another class, or some other way, you've come so far in the time I've known you. We've made memories I will cherish for a lifetime and I owe some of my successes in college to you. You have no idea how much you mean to me and I'm so thankful our paths crossed. Keep in touch and keep doing all of the great things you have set out to do. I can't wait to see what you're made of!
