Could this BE anymore accurate?

Months of studying, complaining about the cold, and stressing have led to this moment...It's finally summer break. It's the break that all college students have waited for anxiously.

Here's how your summer will probably go:

1. Being home after a long, hard semester

School's out and you're finally home! There's so much to do: beach days, meeting all your friends, hanging out and eating all the ice cream you can... this is going to be YOUR summer.

2. Eating mama's homemade food (not that gross dining hall stuff)

First up is the good food. After almost a year of eating boring, gross dining hall food there's finally real, home cooked meals and you couldn't be more excited.

3. Reuniting with hometown friends

Nothing feels better than reuniting with high school friends. After almost an entire year of not seeing them, it feels good to be able to sit down, in person, and have a couple of good laughs again.

4. Being bored because your friends have lives

Everything was great... for like a week. Now everyone's moved on to their summer jobs, internships, and classes so you're all alone curled up in a ball watching Netflix.

5. That summer heat that makes you sweat endlessly

When the summer heat finally hits, you find yourself wondering why you ever wanted it to be warm. You will probably find yourself trying to do just about anything to keep yourself cool, even sticking yourself in the fridge.

6. Realizing that you actually miss college

Has the summer heat driven you a little crazy or are you actually starting to miss college? It's not that you miss the stress but you miss the schedule, the having something to do, the 1 a.m. chats with friends.

7. When the new semester starts soon and you know how much work you'll have

But no matter what how bored you become, you are still shocked and a little sad when you realize school will be starting again in a couple of weeks.

Even if your summer is somewhat similar to this, be appreciative for the break and time to relax because before you know if you'll be heading back to school and wishing you were on break all over again.

Have a good summer everyone!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
