Summer Time Is My Favorite Time And Here Is Why

Summer is such an exciting time. The feeling of the warm air welcomes new positivity and the feeling of a new era. I don’t know what it is about those three months, but it’s just different from the rest of the year. You say goodbye to your college besties and say hello to your friends at home. The feeling of a new opportunity arises and the hope you have been searching for after being defeated by finals appears.

There is so much more to do now that you are able to stay outside without having your toes and fingers freeze to death. Fitting it all in can be a challenge. There are online classes, work, friends you haven’t seen in forever, family time, cabin time, exercise, etc. All of these activities to do in three months and we wonder why time goes by so fast. The summer can be a great time for love. Not only loving a significant other but loving yourself. During the school year, so many personal things easily get pushed aside. Well, summer is a great time to rediscover some of those lost past times. I know I really enjoy to read, but having to read and study 24/7 for school makes reading for fun really hard.

Picking a couple goals for the summer is a great way to keep yourself in check. It is easy to get in the habit of working then just hanging out after being busy all day, but if you can strive to get past that summer can be a whole new thing.

I know I am always looking for new activities to partake in during the summer when I’m out with my friends or even just by myself. There are plenty of lakes and with that comes the beach. This can be a great way to be social while saving money. Rollerblading is another fun activity that can be cheap, social and includes exercise. Going to get ice cream then walking around the lake is one of my favorite things to do in the summer. It’s a great way to treat yourself while also enjoying some fresh air.

There are plenty more ideas when it comes to summer excursions, but I think the most important thing to remember is that summertime is for you. It’s time to save some money and really work on getting yourself back on track after being crazy busy. College is such an interesting time and it consists of a very different lifestyle. Take advantage of the summer. Spend time with your family and enjoy home cooked meals. Try different exercises or eating different foods. Summer is a time for new beginnings and fun adventures.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
