If you're planning on staying local this summer, or live in the area Montclair is a great town for a night out. Whether it be a nice dinner out, a show, fireworks, or sporting event, Montclair has it all. Call up your friends and take the trip to Montclair for a summer night you won't forget!

1. The Wellmont Theater 

Spend a summer night in an intimate concert setting at the Wellmont. Performers have ranged from DNCE to Fetty Wap to Rick Springfield.

2. Cuban Petes Restaurant 

This outdoor Cuban themed restaurant is a common destination in Montclair. Cuban Petes is BYOB, like most Montclair restaurants, and has a great outdoor ambiance.

3. Eagle Rock Reservation 

For incredible views of the city take a trip to Eagle Rock Reservation on a clear night. You can also dine at the Highlawn Pavilion while you're there, but this option is on the pricey side.

4. Church Street

If you're unsure of what you want to do, take a stroll down Church Street. This quaint street has popular shopping destinations as well as top restaurants.

5. New Jersey Jackals Stadium and Fireworks

There is nothing like spending a summer night at a baseball game! Check out the NJ Jackals for a fun family experience, and go to Saturday night home games for an amazing firework show!

6. Absolute Zero Ice Cream

Ice cream is a summer staple. Try the new trending rolled ice cream at this cool Montclair spot.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
