Summer Is My Absolute Favorite Season

Creating summer memories is important.

Summer Is My Absolute Favorite Season

Now that summer is finally here, I want to ask. Have you thought about what you enjoy most about the summer? What is your favorite thing to do with your family or your friends? Where is your favorite place to go and go with? Is there something you used to do and no longer do, but you wish you did? Is there something new that you do now that you haven't done before?

My all time favorite aspect of the summer is sitting by a campfire looking up at the stars and enjoying conversations and time with friends and family. Whenever I would smell a camp fire from a neighbor's house, I would smile and I would know that it was only a matter of time before my mom starts her own campfire in the backyard. My mom would have a campfire in the back yard every night (when she could). Then, I would come home from work and see that she’s outside by the fire.

Having a campfire is the best way to gather friends and or family and just around enjoying the night with one another. You can share stories of your day, share ghost stories, or you can sing. It all depends on who you’re with really. Most of the time, the best way to enjoy the night is to just sit there and look up at the stars in pure silence. Sometimes that is all the conversation you need that day with those people.

Overall, summer is the greatest season. It is the perfect time to have a break from school. Where there are no papers, essays, or projects due, it’s just about relaxing time. The only thing you have to worry about is work, but even then it’s still okay because you know it’s a nice day.

I also enjoy getting to eat watermelon and cantaloupe during the summer. However, the most important food for the summer is ice cream. However, I am pretty lame when it comes to ice cream. I get plain vanilla with rainbow sprinkles (jimmies). Even being able to get a lemonade from Del’s is the greatest feeling in the world.

Being able to cool yourself in the pool or by going to the beach, depending on who you are and what you prefer, is great. Personally, I prefer going swimming in a pool, but that’s just me. I can’t wait to be able to cool myself down in a pool and hang out with friends and just create memories with everyone. Having fun, being with the people you want to be around or people you don’t get to see that often is the greatest feeling.

The summer isn’t about being around a fire, going swimming, going to the beach, eating watermelon, cantaloupe, or even getting to get ice cream. No, the greatest part about the summer and what I feel like is most important is getting to create memories with friends and family. Sometimes the summer is the only way you see people, either family you only see once a year, or friends you only see during school and you want to get together during the summer. It’s the best way to fill a summer.

So this summer, I advise you to go out and make new memories with people. Go somewhere new, meet new people, or even go to a new place with your friends. I know this summer I plan on making it a good one and creating as many memories I can with anyone who wants to come along.

What will your summer story be when summer comes to an end? Will you smile with no regrets? Or will you be disappointed that you didn’t do anything?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
