Now that Easter has passed, the anticipation for summer is bubbling over among students everywhere. For my fellow Carolina students, we have about three-and-a-half weeks left (how exciting!). However, the quick approach of summer brings so much more than anticipation and excitement. From Spring Formal to finals week, I can already tell that this last month of school is going to be the most stressful, busy month, BUT it's going to fly by.
For those of you who are like I am, you probably can't wait to be on a beach somewhere soaking up some sun, but make sure your eagerness for sand and sunshine doesn't get the best of you. Remember that although summer is so close, it is still so far away. A way that I get myself through the last bit of school before summertime is by remembering a few things:
1. Study
I have to constantly remind myself that although I can taste summer on my lips, I am still in school, and I still have to survive finals. When I remind myself to study, I keep myself from cramming and do better in the end.
2. Relaaaax
If all of my time this last month was spent studying, I would have no time to enjoy my last few weeks at school, not to mention the beautiful campus as everything blooms and the weather warms up.
3. Plan Ahead
This one is pretty difficult for me, as I am probably the biggest procrastinator I know. However, when I remember to plan ahead, and I have everything in order, it makes the weeks go by quickly and efficiently.
4. Have fun
What is the last few weeks of school without leaving time for yourself and your friends? Do the three things above, but keep in mind that having fun is important, and that you can have fun and be successful in life.
Everyone loves summer and having time to spend by themselves and with their families. I know that we can all feel the sting of summer on our skin already, but just remember: we are still students this last month, and we can be successful while being eager for summer as long as we keep up with our studies, relax and plan for the month ahead. Enjoy the semester!
