My Summer Must Do's

Do not throw away your summer must do's, stay home now and our summer fun will be soon to come!

During the quarantine, I have found myself thinking about all of the things I want to do throughout my summer vacation. If we all stay safe and home as much as possible, we can all enjoy Summer 2020!

1. GO TO THE BEACH!

I do not know about you, but I am tired of the pool! The pool or tanning in my backyard can not possibly compare to the beaches in South Florida. Not only are the beaches beautiful, but having a beach day with your friends is exactly what post-quarantine in South Florida looks like! I think that is just what I need after being home and not being able to see my friends because we need to socially distance.

2. Travel.

I have started visiting my family in Baltimore, Maryland for a week during the summer. Last year, it was one of the highlights of my summer. My younger cousin even flies back with me and stays in Florida for a week. It gives me a lot of well needed time with my family from Maryland that I rarely get to see. I really hope I can still go on this trip, but I am going to remain positive!

3. Hit the gym!

The gyms being closed has decreased my motivation to exercise massively. I love going to the gym and how I feel after working out so I can not wait for them to open up again! I need to get back to my routine and feeling better. I have been a victim of the quarantine funk and need to get out of it A.S.A.P!

4. Take a summer term.

A summer term is required at most universities and I am taking mine this summer. I am surprisingly excited to take classes over the summer and get to go back to school for a month. I am already missing my roommates and friends from school due to the semester ending so abruptly and shockingly. I will be so ready to get back and see them.

5. Work my butt off!

I want to top last summer! That will be hard because I think last summer was the best summer I have ever had. But, I plan on working hard in every aspect of my life. I want to work at my jobs in both South Florida and Tallahassee, do well in my classes I am taking, and most importantly work on myself. I hope to have a perfectly well-rounded Summer 2020.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
