This weekend I got the chance to see the movie Sully. This movie was AMAZING! The movie tells the story about what we didn't get to see or hear about. It showed what happened during and after the Miracle on the Hudson landing of 2009. It showed how Captain Sullenburger and his co-pilot had PTSD like symptoms with flashback dreams, and what could have happened dreams. It also shows what happened during the trial with the board the two pilots had to go through. During their "trial" with the NTSB, the people questioning him didn't believe that he was telling the truth about whether or not they could get back to the Laguardia Airport or reroute to a nearby New Jersey airport in enough time to safely land the plane.
After showing both how Sullenburger did it in the simulator and how it could have happened at the hearing, the board then understood why he landed on the Hudson. This event, if the NTSB hadn't seen the exact way Sullenburger pulled this off, would have prematurely ended his career without any pension. Thankfully, Sully and his co-pilot stood up for what he knew happened and ended up helping show that not everything on the simulator can be correct because anything can happen in real life where as in a simulator it only simulates what we know can happen.
