With Halloween around the corner, tutorials for DIY costumes have been flooding my timelines. But, sugar skulls have dominated and it seems as if every other costume related post consists of sugar skull makeup tutorials.
Sugar skulls come from the Mexican holiday, Dia de Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead which takes place on November 1st and 2nd and honors the spirits of the departed loved ones. The skulls translate to calaveras in Spanish and are a well-known symbol of Dia de Los Muertos.
I personally love seeing pictures and will definitely try to recreate one of these 10 beautiful sugar skull looks!
1. This looks simple enough, right?

2. It's a little complex but all the jewels make it look flawless.

3. Is this an actual person or a painting?

4. Here's a simple, but beautiful look that shouldn't be (as hard) to try.

5. Hair, outfit and makeup is all perfectly coordinated.

6. You can never go wrong with a half face look.

6. Which allows you to show off your makeup skills on the normal side.

7. This blush/white sugar skull seems peaceful.

8. And the elegance of this one is over 100%.

9. So much gold, but it's good!

10. Finally, going with black never hurts.
