If you haven't seen Suicide Squad by now, you definitely should be heading to the movie theater like...yesterday. The long awaited movie, Suicide Squad had been known since last year of 2015, when a person for a convention video taped and leaked the sneak peek to the world. Suicide Squad was coming and you better get ready as your favorite DC villains form the comics team up to save the world! The cast consist of some popular characters such as, Deadshot,( Will Smith), Harley,( Margot Robbie), Joker (Jared Leto), Enchantress( Cara Delevigne), Diablo ( Jay Henrnadez), and Amanda Walker (Viola Davis) just to name a few. The main objective of Suicide Squad is to use super villains to do the dirty work for the government, if they fail the squad is to blame and if they win the government is victorious. A win-win situation for the government, but not for our wonderful villains. As in the movie they come together to basically take down Dr.Moon aka Enchantress, as she and her brother try to destroy humans and make them bow down to them once again.
However, the focus was not entirely on the Suicide Squad and the action, but the internet is actually focused on the Joker and Harley's relationship throughout the movie. Our favorite clown prince, the Joker, and Harley Quinn were the stars of the film and have now become #relationshipgoals. The internet blasted with memes and conversations about the ride or die relationship Joker and Quinn have in the film. (Warning! Spoiler Alert!) During the entire movie Joker is trying to break Harley free from a maximum security prison. He goes to great lengths to get her back such as, finding the lab that injected the anti- heros with tracking devices so he can deactivate Quinn's to ensure that when she escapes she won't get her head blown off...like Slipknot does in the first 20 minutes (lol). We also get glimpses of their pasts as just like the comics Harley was Joker's psychologist in Arkham Asylum, which she fell madly in love with the Joker.
I see the allure the audience has with the Joker and Harley love, with Joker relentlessly trying to retrieve Harley and how he killed Common because he called her a "bad b*tch". What I can't get past is the abuse that Harley takes from the Joker . If you haven't notice Joker electrified Harley and bounded her to the table. he also pushed her into a big container of chemicals to see how much love she has for him. In the comics it is much more abusive than in the movie as the Joker has used Harley as a hostage and sometimes left her to die, only to bring her back and acting like he is as equally in love with her.
I believe that its an equal abusive and loving relationship. In the movie its more geared to the deep psychotic love Joker has for Quinn, but in comics the feelings aren't mutual. So is this #baegoals?
