7 Tips For Knocking Your Interview Out Of The Park

Being a college student you will face many interviews in your life. Knowing some of tips and tricks to acing an interview is a good way to make a good impression. Keep in mind your resume is not you, it's only experience not you as an actual worker.

1. Dress for success

Trust me dressing in nice clothes makes a great impression. I have heard from employers before if someone shows up in yoga pants I am not hiring them.

2. Have strengths

Know what strengths you have in a way that you can clearly define and explain when prompted to in the interview. Also, make sure they are relevant to the position your applying to.

3. Have weaknesses

Believe it or not interviewers like hearing things your not so good at either. If you say nothing your lying so know what your weaknesses and have a response ready.

4. Be early

Show up a good 15-20 minutes early. The interview is your first impression, if you show up late they are going to think that's the kind of worker you are. Guess who won't be hired?

5. Do not bring other people with

They are hiring you not anyone else. Bringing a parent or friend makes a bad impression on you, showing that you can't do even an interview alone. Most jobs want you to have your own transportation. So if you have to have someone drive you, have them wait in the car.

6. Have questions

Having questions is good to show for the interview. It shows your prepared. Ask what your wage would be, uniforms, and even when you should expect to hear back.

7. Give a thank you

Send a small thank you card about three days later to thank them for taking the time to interview you. This leaves a good impression and if you don't get the job they may hold onto your name when they have another opening.

Overall these are just some tips for having a more successful interview. I hope these helped and please keep them in mind. Some of these came from my bosses and parents who have told me that there are certain things people do that just says don't hire me.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
