Warm weather and sunshine mean spring is here. But it also means it's allergy season and many people are suffering this year more than ever.
In fact, we spoke to a student about the subject to offer a better perspective. Here is the transcript of the interview and take note that the student even struggles to answer questions because of his allergies.
INTERVIEWER: Pollen levels have been high and breathing comfort has been very poor.
What are your thoughts of this year's allergy season so far?
STUDENT: I mean the weather has been (Sneezes) nice, but I can't (Sneezes) enjoy myself because of my allergies.
INTERVIEWER: Yes, yes I see. Can someone get tissues please? He needs tissues!
Would you say this year has been worse than the past?
STUDENT: Definitely. This year, I can actually feel (Sniffles) the pollen attacking me. I always look like I'm crying, but I'm not. (Breathes in heavily)
INTERVIEWER: (Hands a tissue to Student) Here, here you go.
Do you take any medication for your allergies?
STUDENT: I do, (Blows nose) but honestly no amount of allergy meds can help me this year.
INTERVIEWER:Do you have any advice for those who are also suffering like yourself?
STUDENT: Avoid going outside at all costs. It's a dangerous world out there.
INTERVIEWER:It sure sounds like it. We appreciate your input. Thank you so much for your time.
STUDENT:Thank you. (Now looks like this)
INTERVIEWER:You heard it here folks. If you suffer from seasonal allergies, this is the year to stay indoors and out of the way of pollen.
STUDENT:(Walks away, trips and falls into a bed of flowers)
I'm OK! I'm OK! (Wipes eyes and continues to walk sneezing)
It's this time of year when people ask, "Why me?" and "What have I done to deserve this?" as they reach for their next tissue.
Without allergies, people would wake up feeling great in the mornings, drive with the windows down, and frolic through fields of flowers!
But sadly, that's just not reality for some people. So for those with seasonal allergies, know you are not alone. You've gotten through it all before and can do it again this year too.
Stay strong, stay positive, but also try your best to stay indoors and have tissues close by.
