Are you the perfectionist at the bake sale who insists on bringing a homemade pie? Or do you get a little too excited when someone says the word "potluck?" Or maybe you just have an obsession with cookie cutters.

These are all signs that you, my friend, love to bake. Emphasis on the love. My mother is a chef, so I grew up in a nontraditional household. McDonald's was a sin, and tea sandwiches were considered snacks. I was raised to think of food as an art.

I love baking because it is an opportunity to show off the beauty of food. The recipes are scientific and require intense focus; making it a great pastime to destress and relax. It is essential to forget about everything else and give 100% of your attention to the task.

Here are 20 struggles that people who love to bake can relate to:

1. Your recipe board on Pinterest is... well...er... comprehensive .

2. When word gets out that you bake, your friends are constantly asking you to bake them things.

3. And then if you don't, they start posting recipes to your Facebook wall.

And your Twitter. And your Instagram. Basically, they do not stop until you show up with brownies the next day.

4. The holiday season is the best season, because it means themed desserts.

5. And soon enough, your entire paycheck is dissolved on cookie cutters, sprinkles and food coloring.

Because #priorities.

6. You have had at least one fantasy about ending up with Bobby Flay.

7. And all of the Food Network shows are already on automatic Tivo.

8. You have a close friendship with all of your doormen, because they are the ones who eat your test batches.

9. You have set off the fire alarm at least once.

10. You are very protective over your mixer.

11. You hate explaining to non-bakers what mise en place is. And when you see them skip it, you just laugh, knowingly.

12. You are extremely technical.

13. Every time you buy your ingredients, the cashier asks you what you are making.

14. You always have butter, eggs, flour and sugar in the house.

Just in case.

15. You are capable (and have) baked emergency chocolate chip cookies and brownies multiple times.

16. After completing a successful baking mission, you may or may not have referred to yourself as a "sweet genius."

17. You have a favorite apron that is yours and nobody else's.

18. Your recipe book is more detailed than all of your school notes combined.

19. As much as you love baking, you hate cleaning up.

20. But then when you see you made something beautiful, it's all worth it. Plus you get to eat it, and who can say anything bad about that?

So bakers unite, and continue to make the world a more delicious place- one sweet treat a time!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
