Having a group chat seems like a good idea at first, you know-- for making plans and talking to all of your best friends at once. But once it starts, you quickly realize it is the most difficult thing to be a part of.
1. No one is ever on at the same time.
It always seems like everyone just tries to find a time when everyone else is busy to answer a question that was directed to them eight days ago. Then they have to read through all of the messages again to remember what everyone was talking about.
2. There are those two friends that seem to be talking in the group chat ALL. THE. TIME.
I understand that you both are excited over that one episode of that TV show that no one else watches. I am sorry they killed off your favorite character with a minor role. But please, do not talk about it on the GROUP chat, you can text them yourself.
3. Making group plans.
No one is ever on at the same time and we all want different things. But we try to be polite and say, yeah it’s cool that we go to Exodus rooms or something. Deep down, you want nothing more than to go to the beach with your best friends. This can’t happen though, because we all have conflicting schedules or no one can make up their mind.
4. The one person who tries to keep peace when it gets heated.
Being in one chat with friends you have known for basically your whole life has its good and its bad. The bad is that we fight like brothers and sisters. Thankfully, there is the person who doesn’t like conflict and lightens the mood.
5. That one bossy person that makes group plans.
She has been bossy her whole life, I wouldn’t expect anything less of (insert name here). This person is the one who is trying to plan the whole thing and really wants us to spend time together. When we don’t cooperate she becomes a bit hostile.
6. There is that one person that never responds to the group chat.
However, when they do respond, everyone makes a huge deal about it. Life is busy, but pls give us some love, we miss you.
7. That one person who is almost always confused.
Don’t get this confused with no. 6 because this person is usually talking. Somehow they just never know what’s happening when and ends up just sending memes to everyone.
8.Those times when you’re just too busy to answer.
It always seems to happen when the group chat gets really funny or has some gossip to talk about. And you’re all by your lonesome at work, with your phone going off every two seconds.
9. Trying to catch up on the whole conversation.
When you finally have a break, you scroll miles of GIFs and memes. When you get to the actual conversation, you get a message in the group chat and you have to start all over.
10. Saying something and no one responds.
It was a good joke guys, please acknowledge that.
11. Saying something that everyone responds to.
This can happen when you have a really good clapback. Everyone praises you and you feel like a Kardashian-- everyone makes a big deal out of you when you really didn’t do anything.
12. Seeing a message or a really good point and not being able to respond to it.
Everyone else has moved on from the topic, it’s time you should too.
13. Trying to make a point and no one listens to you.
Guys, I know you have a really short attention span, but please, just say yes or no to the question.
Honestly, even though group chats can be a pain, they’re really awesome cause you can talk to your best friends all in the same place.
