5"4

long hair

brown eyes

daddy left was I was only 5

never even cared

so why should it matter?

momma left raising me and my bro

grandma and grandpa waiting up with us till we seen her tired eyes

first day of kindergarten

I got kicked and blood dripped down my face

playing with my Barbie dolls and looking into the other room to see grandma on the floor shaking out of it

the ambulance and paramedics showing up and taking her away

being young I witnessed it all

getting sent to daycares because grandma was sick

brushing my brothers teeth and taking care of his needs until It was time to get on the bus to go to school

bullied at school

I cried in silence feeling like no one understood my 3rd grader self

1,2,3,4 I was held down no way to defend myself

behind a dumpster I was jumped

I promised I would never let another person make me feel as bad as I did in that moment

the high school days that were good and bad

my senior year struggle fighting to the fish

graduation day when I could finally look back at my life and thank God because I finally made it

Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
