If you are a commuter student, you will understand these everyday struggles.
1. Traffic. Traffic sucks, especially when you have an exam in your first class of the day! It can be very unpredictable and make you late for your morning classes.

2. You have a harder time being involved in campus life and activities. It is more difficult to keep up with all of the events if you do not live on campus and you miss out on a lot of things.

3. Losing time commuting when you could be studying. If you have a half hour commute to and from school each day, you could be losing more than five hours a week of driving time.

4. Finding a place to park. If you are already late for school from traffic, you could lose an extra five minutes just trying to find a place to park.

5. Gas money. Most college students are already in debt and the gas money spent commuting just adds on to the debt.

6. Paying for parking decals for the car you drive to school in and not being able to drive any other car in unless you want a ticket.

7. Classes that are spread out in a day. It really sucks if you only have two classes in a day and one is an 8 am and the other does not start until 3:30 pm. Unless you drive home in between and waste extra gas money, you are going to be spending a lot of time sitting around.

8. Heavy backpacks and not being able to put stuff in your dorm or lockers. Commuter students carry everything we need for the whole day in our backpack, which can get pretty heavy. You can put some things in your car unless you carpool, but there is a higher chance of getting items stolen.

9. Finding out your only class of the day is canceled and you have to go all the way back home.
