Ambitions as an artist...why do I even do what I do? Even I can't answer that question. Every artist can agree that these struggles are valid and very real.

1. Being an artist is hard.

And sometimes people just don't understand you or your work.

2. Art is dying.

It’s like everyone’s becoming lazy and trying to find easy ways to acquire cash through art, that maybe to them has value and meaning. But as we can see with even modern art, there’s just no creative ingenuity greasing up the gears of human mind to produce elaborate stories and colorful paintings.

3. You gotta have some geeky edge.

There’s a difference between geeks and nerds and this image explains how they're different.

I rest my case.

4. Your parents won’t understand.

I’m sorry Mom, Dad, and relatives, I don’t want to be like you. I don’t want a normal job, and I sure as hell don’t want to be something I have no passion for in life. Being an artist is my passion and my passion is my art.

5. People probably think you should get a real job.

Screw that, I ask the people who have normal jobs, how much did they pay you at your first job to essentially give up on your dreams? F*ck that shit, I’ll live my life how I want to live it.

6. You can’t be normal or should I say, you can’t think how everyone else thinks.

You have to be unique and critical in all aspects that surround human nature. I can’t think how everyone else does because I have subconsciously subdued all mental and physical distractions and relied on pursuing true knowledge through science and philosophy. You have no idea what I’m saying or what I mean because you’re not suppose to.

7. The only force that can stop you, is you.

Nothing can hold us back. The only good thing about striving to be an artists is that most of the time, the artist has passion. If you don’t have passion with anything you do, it’ll affect a multitude of critical working skills.

8. You have to make critical sacrifices.

Some nights I won’t go out cause I know that I have to keep working for my dreams. A lot of people in college, high school, or even out of college aren’t doing sh*t with their lives. We all have dreams. Just pursue them and think how much this world will be better off if we all followed our dreams! Life sucks, we all know that, but it’s the light at the end of the tunnel, the hope, the ambition, that keeps us going. Winners never quit and quitters never win.

9. We don’t care what they think.

For some artists, they work for an audience. They work for the money and the fame and there’s nothing wrong with that. But I would highly, HIGHLY recommended that you find passion in your work. No passion, no success, and I’ll keep reiterating that.

I don’t look like an artist and I sure as hell don’t act like a typical one. Or maybe I do, I'm not really sure how artists act. But all I know is that I struggle day in and day out to get to where I am today. I’m still a nobody, but at least I work to become somebody. Follow your dreams kids. You will be around yourself longer than anyone else will so you better make yourself interesting.

If you don’t fear God, then by God you’ll fear me.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
