Having an awesome friendship is like drinking a glass of wine

A strong friendship is like wine.

It takes time to breathe. To learn about a wine, or a person. To really appreciate it for all it has to offer.

To appreciate the variety of wine selection there is to choose from. Some bitter. Some sweet. And to select your favorites, casting aside some that don't seem to pair well with your life at times.

To calm you in times of sorrow, to cheer you up in times of cheerfulness and rejoice in the little things.

It can mellow you out in times of stress. Just to sit and sip next to. So soothing.

It indulges you, it greets you with a smile. Never jealous. Never judgmental.

Some days you only need a sip. Some days you need a whole bottle. Just as some days you need slight comforts of friendship, and some days you need a shoulder to cry on, or an ear to rant to.

Wine is diverse and from all around the world. Leaving you to explore. Discover new wines, always sticking to your favorites in the end. Always coming home with new stories to smile and talk about.

It can get you through heartbreaks and some of your greatest accomplishments.

There are different occasions and glasses to drink it all in, along with the experiences and memories it brings.

The more you invest in it, the better acquainted and the better sense of taste you grow.

Wine is always there for you.

A strong friendship is like wine.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
