You know those outgoing, loud, friendly and sometimes annoying and obnoxious people? Yeah, those are extroverts. Extroverts are people who get their energy from being around others. There are several strengths and weaknesses of this personality type:

Strengths

1. Able to think quickly

Extroverts' brains are wired in a way that stimuli make a short trip through the middle area of the brain that processes things like taste, touch, and visuals.

2. Great networking skills

Extroverts love communicating with people. In fact, being in social environments is how extroverts get their energy. They're also good at working in teams and tend to enjoy entertaining people.

3. Love to take risks

Extroverts have a sensitivity to dopamine, which makes them love the thrill of taking risks in order to get a reward. This can be very beneficial in their career and relationship lives.

4. Easily able to express emotion

Extroverts tend to be an open book, which can be a really good thing when it comes to relationships since communication is key.

5. Make friends easily

Extroverts usually do not have a problem with meeting new people or even public speaking in general. This helps them in their personal and work lives.

Weaknesses

1. Find it difficult to work alone

Extroverts have trouble working in silence and getting things done independently. They work much better when they can bounce ideas off other people.

2. Talk too much

Everyone gets annoyed with the person that never knows when to shut up. This is one of extroverts' biggest weaknesses, along with being clingy.

3. Have poor listening skills

Extroverts love to talk and aren't afraid to share their opinions. This can cause some tension between friends because they tend to lack the ability to just listen.

4. Get bored easily

Extroverts need constant stimuli to stay interested in one particular thing. Therefore, they prefer to be busy and usually do not deal well with boredom.

5. Don’t handle loneliness well

Introverts get energy from being alone with themselves, whereas if extroverts are alone for too long they become very sad and lonely.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
