Alright, I'm about to try something new. I'm not going to talk about life this time.
I'm here today to talk to you about breakfast.
They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Apparently, or at least according to Google, the word "breakfast" originated in England, and it came from the action words "break" and "fast." So, when you eat breakfast, you're literally breaking the fasting state your body enters while it sleeps at night.
All is to say, breakfast matters, people.
In addition, I have a recipe I've been working with over this past week while I've been home for Spring Break, and I'd love for anyone reading this to give it a try! I've listed the ingredients and steps below.
Strawberry & Banana Protein Bowl Recipe
1/2 Cup Steel-cut Oats
1 Cup Water
1/4 Cup Greek Yogurt (Plain or Vanilla)
1/2 Banana, Sliced
3-4 Strawberries, Sliced
1 Tablespoon Half & Half
Small handful of Almonds (Whole or Sliced)
Honey or other Sweetener
1) Prepare Oatmeal (boil water and pour over oats OR combine water with oats and microwave)
2) Stir in Greek yogurt and Half & Half
3) Top with OR stir in bananas, strawberries, and almonds
4) Top with desired amount of granola, cinnamon, and honey
