There are many (stranger) things we all can relate to in college. Whether it's studying for a huge exam or spending time with your best friends, it will be the best and hardest time of your life.

1. When you finally understand a concept while studying

One of the greatest moments while studying is when something just clicks. It’s when the light bulb finally goes off in your head. It feels empowering, and now you feel like you can conquer your exam with ease.

2. When your professors schedule multiple exams the same week

Three exams in five days. It seemed like a foreign topic until you got to college. The panic sets in, and so you ration out the hours per day to give yourself the most efficient study time. We all do it.

3. When you come home from a night out

We’ve all had that time when we stay out late and come home ready to eat whatever we can find. It’s okay though because dinner was five hours ago right??

4. When you wake up in the morning and decide if class is worth it

That awful moment when you wake up to rain, freezing temperatures, or even just a busy day. College gives us chaotic schedules, and coffee becomes critical for survival. If you haven’t contemplated what it would be like to lay in bed and skip class, then props to you.

5. Getting to see your friends after a long day

College is hard but knowing that you get to see your friends after a long day makes it worth it. They are your support system, your shoulder to cry on and extra closet when “nothing seems to fit." College friends are the real deal.

6. Leaving the grocery store and ignoring your budget

You go to the store knowing clearly the amount you have to spend, but those chocolate chip cookies are totally worth going over budget for. You try to rationalize with yourself -- I just got an A on my paper, so I can totally treat myself.

7. Leaving home after a long break

You get a little bit teary eyed when you know you have to go back to school. You say "goodbye" to homemade meals, and "hello" to microwavable snacks. You’ll miss being spoiled when at home with your bed, your family, and your own room. Home is where the heart is -- am I right?

8. The Walk of Shame: exam style

The moment you walk out of the testing room and back into reality. You haven’t seen the daylight in a few days, and you’re wondering if it was really worth it. The question you debated answers on repeats in your head, and you try to analyze what your grade will be after the exam.

9. Registering For Classes

There is a reason your search engine recognizes “Rate My Professor." You create your schedule to your liking, and upon registering, it never works out. Registering for classes is stressful. You have to graduate in four years and have the best professors, like duh, why is that so difficult??

10. Knowing this is the time of your life

Although it is only four years, it is the time of your life. The real world seems scary. Never again will you be given the same opportunities to have fun, be young, and to grow as a person.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
