Picking a college major can be one of the biggest challenges a student will face. Many people switch majors multiple times and occasionally end up in a field they never expected. College majors often relate to a person's interests, but also their personality.

"Stranger Things" became a huge hit for Netflix when it came out, and through the two seasons produced, the characters have grown and shown their true personalities. While picking a college major is not as hard as fighting off a Demogorgon, it can feel like an adventure into the Upside Down. Instead of dreading picking a major like you're entering Hawkins lab, here are the main characters as college majors. Also spoilers alert!

Will Byers: Architecture

Will Byers disappears at the beginning of the show, pops up a few times in the middle and comes back in the end much like Architecture students. They are trapped in Studio creating models for days and maybe show up a few times in the term to hang. However, many, like Will, have mad art skills vital to creating good models.

Joyce Byers: Philosophy

While most of us just see a strand of lights, like any good philosopher Joyce has the ability to see past the physical and into the metaphorical to uncover what we never could. She knows there is more than meets the eye to any seemingly crazy or unrealistic situation, and she will not stop until she has the answers.

Mike Wheeler: Journalism

Mike is open-minded, determined, and he will not stop until he knows everything is done right. While he might go against his friends, he will do anything. Mike holds onto his values, but lets the things he experiences help him grow. Like any good journalism major, he may be a little too stubborn, but he will not stop until the truth comes out.

Eleven: Physics

El is able to literally push the limits of what we understand scientifically. She can do almost anything she puts her mind to. Though she may not talk much, she can come up with incredible things when she puts her mind to it. El is just the person to advance our knowledge of what is really possible.

Lucas Sinclair: Economics

Lucas looks at a problem with an analytical mind-set and solves problems based on what the information tells him. While sometimes a skeptic to change, he is able to see when a little outside help is necessary to get the job done.

Dustin Henderson: Psychology

Dustin is often the moderator of the group. He helps moderate Lucas and Mike's disagreements and works to keep the group together. He knows how his friends think and uses this help them solve disputes. Dustin has a great ability to talk and connect with people.

Jim Hopper: Criminology

Jim is the police chief after all, and a damn good one at that. Hopper knows how to look at the facts, analyze the situation to uncover the truth, and protect the ones he loves. Like any good criminology student, Hopper knows how to take in all the information and come to an informed conclusion.

Nancy Wheeler: Law

Driven to discover the truth about Barbra and to bring Barb's family closure, Nancy will do whatever it takes to find justice for her friend. No matter the risks or obstacles, Nancy will not rest till she has all answers and delivers justice where justice is due. Nancy does not let anyone else tell her what to do.

Jonathan Byers: Art

While he may come off a bit like a stalker at first, Jonathan is skilled with a camera and loves to photograph what he sees. Jonathan has a knack for looking at the world differently. From his photographic skills to his love for music, Jonathan would fit in at any arts school.

Steve Harrington: Family/Human Services

As Steve stated in the second season, he is a good babysitter. As his character develops, it is clear he has a knack for taking care of people and keeping them safe. Steve will fight to defend those he cares about, and he has a weird ability to connect with people of any age. Like any good mentor, Steve knows when it counts to be there for a person.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
