Stop With The "New Year New Me" BS

So Christmas is over, work started again and everyone is preparing for new years. This is the time of year where everyone indulges at their family parties, treats themselves to the good holiday goodies and basically is in fairytale land because the holiday's are always suppose to be a cheery and happy time.

As soon as the fairytale settles in and everyone realizes it's over they start going down memory lane and thinking of all the good, bad and ugly that happened throughout the last year. Then reality hits and everyone starts having regrets, starts thinking about what could have changed and what would have been different and then that's when THE ANNOYING "NEW YEAR, NEW ME" bull crap starts.

Just because we are ringing in a new year does not mean that your life will automatically change and you will be the fit, healthy, lovable and non grouchy Monday person you wanted to be LAST NEW YEARS. Change takes time, effort and dedication. Most of the people who do this typical new years new me bs are the ones who stop their gym membership after a month of really not going and starts buying all the crappy food again and still hate Mondays and are doing the exact same thing they were two weeks prior to the holidays.

What I am trying to say is if you want to change your lifestyle, eating habits and other things in your life you do not have to wait for new years to do it and its just an excuse for you to post some corny Instagram photos with the caption as "new year, new me" so stop trying to fool everyone.

If you are not happy when you look in the mirror, check your bank account or even whats in your fridge get up and go change it, stop pushing it off until the new year and start tomorrow. Like I said earlier change takes time, dedication and a lot of effort so unless you're actually ready for it this year and all of that please do not post or talk about how you will be this fabulous new person just because the calendar will say January 1st come in a few days.

Instead of wasting your breath of the overused saying actually make goals for yourself this year and gradually try to hit them because you won't over night. Make a list, write it in your new planner, new electronic or whatever it is you use everyday and work on bettering yourself and achieving those things you have always wanted.

Be YOU this new years and don't try to put on an act. Happy new year, may all your goals be achieved and yourself be happier.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
