Whenever I just want to sit back, relax and be lazy, I always watch Netflix. I have shows to watch to feel nostalgic and current shows that I have to catch up on ... in one day. This is my list of binge-worthy shows for Netflix lovers.
One Tree Hill
"One Tree Hill" will always be my favorite show. Ever since it went off air, I cry a little when I hear “I Don’t Want to Be.” I have learned so much from this show, from basketball references to wanting to find my very own Nathan and Julian (to Lucas fans, two words, TEAM BROOKE). I discovered new music from this show (my favorite montage, “in your wedding dress, to have and to hold…” oh memories). I always turn on this show when I want to hear a funny Brooke line or relive Nathan and Haley’s love story. I will never forget this show, and I hope this under-appreciated show will find new fans.
Friends
I cannot even describe how happy I was to see this show on Netflix. As much fun as watching it on TV was, I like being able to watch all ten seasons at once. I was not born yet when this show started, but it is still very relevant to this day. In fact, I reference it all the time. My personal favorites are “You’re my lobster,” and “We were on a break!” So iconic!
How I Met Your Mother
When I watch this show, I avoid the ninth season like the Black Plague. I know how it ends, and I honestly cannot bring myself to relive that pain over again. I am still bitter and angry and go into a rage thinking about that finale. Now, that does not mean I do not enjoy the show. I will always watch seasons one through eight with pride and make up my own ending. In a perfect world, the season eight finale is where this show would end. I will forever love the friendship between Ted, Marshall, Lily, Robin and Barney. No ending will change that.
Sons of Anarchy
To be honest, I was hesitant about watching it because I did not know, even with all the hype, if I would like it. To put it simply, I now heart this show. Despite all the violence, I find it easy to binge this show in one sitting. Jax Teller and the bikers are truly entertaining to watch. I cannot help but want more of it. Truth be told, Jax really makes this show for me. Just lookat him. To anyone who has not seen it and are hesitant like me, try it, the show is actually good. You will not regret it.
Pretty Little Liars
Since the show is currently airing, binge-watching can be hard at times. Not having a clear ending in sight makes my mind go rampant. However, I find Netflix-bingeing helps with waiting until the new season airs. Just sit back and watch from the beginning with new knowledge to help piece things together. The one thing I warn against, is that watching from the beginning many times tends to make conspiracy theories flow inside your head. You really start becoming suspicious of everyone. Main A could be anyone and watching during season breaks could lead to more questions than answers.
The Fosters
My newest obsession. I instantly loved this show. Before getting into it, I am going to say I am firmly on Team Brandon and Callie. Just to clarify, whenever I watch a show, I find a couple I worship and will support them relentlessly through thick and thin. With two complete seasons under its belt, only time will tell what happens. With that said, the other characters are lovable and great. The Foster-Adams family is amazing. They may not be perfect and have problems like any other family, but they are a great blended family. They are heartwarming and are the true root of the show.
Bonus: One show I sish was still on Netflix ...
Dawson’s Creek
One day this show legitimately just went away. I did not notice until I went to go watch it, and it was gone. ABC Family is currently airing this show on syndication though. However, I miss having instant access. Now when I want to binge my favorite couple, Pacey and Joey, I have to find another way to. Good thing I have the complete series on DVD.
Overall, these shows are my go-tos on Netflix. I truly recommend these to you, my reader. Maybe this article will give you your newest favorite show. It can happen, people. All it takes is a good review to change a viewing experience.
