Please Stop Telling Me I'm Prettier Without Makeup

Please Stop Telling Me I'm Prettier Without Makeup

Did I ask for your opinion on my face?

It's no secret to any that I'm a makeup addict. Log into my Youtube account, the only subscriptions you'll find are to my favorite makeup artists like Manny, Jeffree and Laura Lee. I swipe my Sephora card almost as much as I swipe my credit card. I run into CVS for face wipes and leave with three new lipsticks to try.

Sadly for me, I wasn't blessed with good pipes, I've never gotten the hang of any instruments and even my stick figures look like they were drawn by a toddler. Needless to say, the artist genes skipped me for the most parts. The only art I've ever produced is the looks I've made in front of my mirror with a blending brush. And (almost) always, I walk away loving the way it's turned out.

But what I don't love? The comments I get, but generally don't ask for, about my makeup.

"You're so pretty without all of that gunk on your face!"

"Guys don't like girls who wear so much makeup."

"I just prefer the natural look."

"But you'd look so much better without all of that."

For the love of all that's good and holy, please stop telling me I look better without makeup on. Please stop telling me I wear 'too much' makeup. Please stop telling me I don't need makeup.

Because believe it or not? I know I don't need to wear makeup. I'm not trying to impress anyone and I know for a fact I'm beautiful without any on. Yes, I do like the way I look wearing makeup but I can easily leave the house without it on. I just genuinely (most days) enjoy makeup. I still don't see how that's such a bad thing.

Sure, you're allowed to have an opinion on my makeup. But, unless you're telling me my highlights on point or there's lipstick on my teeth, I probably don't care. Now excuse me while I go work on my contour.

It's tough to find perfect tattoos with meaning.

You probably want something permanent on your body to mean something deeply, but how do you choose a tattoo that will still be significant in 5, 10, 15, or 50 years? Over time, tattoos have lost much of their stigma and many people consider them a form of art, but it's still possible to get a tattoo you regret.

So here are 20 tattoos you can't go wrong with. Each tattoo has its own unique meaning, but don't blame me if you still have to deal with questions that everyone with a tattoo is tired of hearing!

To My Ruined Favorite Pair of Jeans

We had a good run.

Every girl has a pair of jeans that they love more than any other. They have a perfect combination of fit, style, and comfort.

And due to that overwhelming awesomeness from that pair of jeans, we seem to wear them a bit more often than our other pairs, which usually means they wear out faster than our other pairs.

Its a special kind of sad day when you realize your go-tos are no longer wearable. Jeans can be expensive, and sometimes you have to face the fact that you will not be able to create your signature looks right away anymore.

So here is to you, and your favorite jeans.

Embrace, and cherish, the days of them always being in your drawer whenever you need them. Relish in the times that you can put them on after you had washed them and they fit a little better than the time before. Use the pockets you have stretched out to the perfect size for all of your stuff, and wear them with your favorite shoes even if you think you have worn that look one too many times.

Wear them to class, to a club, to dinner with your friends. Make the most of their versatility, allowing you to be comfortably cute whenever you need or want to be. Wear them with heels and with sneakers. Look in the mirror and smile as they perfectly fit your curves. These jeans were made for you.

Some goodbyes are harder than others, and jeans, while replaceable, have a special place in the heart of some girls. It may seem silly and ridiculous (and we know it is), but the confidence boost from your perfect pair of jeans is unmatched.

Love all the times you've had in those jeans and the events you've been able to wear them to. And when it is time for a new pair, it just means it's time to find a new go-to!
