Stop Placing Judgement On Each Other

"There is one lawgiver and judge who is able to save or to destroy. Who then are you to judge your neighbor?" ~ James 4:12

Judgement: it is one of the largest fatal flaws that the human race suffers from, in my opinion.

We, being the imperfect people that we are, tend to fall prey to the need to see something wrong with other people. We look around in our daily lives and never once fail to find something to shake our heads at or correct in other people's lives. This has become increasingly popular on social media. People have begun using these public sites to cut down people who have upset them or hurt them; they seek revenge rather than forgiveness. This practice only adds to the ugliness that is poisoning our world.

If this wasn't bad enough, we also many times fail to see what is wrong within ourselves and our own lives. We go around throwing judgement at other people without realizing that many times what we are judging them for is something that we are also guilty of from time to time.

"Why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but fail to notice the beam in your own eye?" ~ Matthew 7:3

This quote is a great go to when you find yourself placing judgement upon other people for something that you know you may be guilty of also. It reminds us that we are not perfect, and that because of this, we are not allowed to correct and judge other's actions. That is a job for God alone.

As humans, we fall victim to the deadly sin of pride quite often. Pride is something that will lead us astray as human beings easier than anything else. It is one of the hardest things to fight against because it is so natural to want to feel that way some times. What we must remember is that pride does nothing good for our souls. We become ugly when we allow pride to over take our lives, and no one wants to be around someone who has an ugly heart.

Say what you will, but beauty on the inside will always hold the most importance in life. It is what will draw people to you or push them away. It is what can bring you opportunities in life or cause you to lose them. Having inner beauty can change everything, however, when you spend the precious life that God gave you judging other people, your inner beauty becomes dimmed.

There is no one on this earth who is going to enjoy being judged by you; this is mostly because they know that you are not without fault either.

"Do not judge someone just because they sin differently than you." ~ Unknown

This is a quote that I try to keep in my mind at all times. It is so easy to forget our own faults when we busy ourselves with looking at the faults of someone else, however, this does not make it okay.

As a society, we must band together in love for one another rather than judgement and hatred. We must dream of a world of peace where we learn to live alongside one another without the need to bring others down. Once we all see that dream of purity, we will not be able to live any other way. Let us try to strive to live the way that God first intended for us to live, and only then will we truly find peace in a world without judgement.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
