Stop Discrediting Black Lives Matter By Saying All Lives Matter

Recently there has been a surge of people using the All Lives Matter stance. Now fundamentally there is nothing wrong with this stance, however there is an issue when the All Live Matter stance is used to undermine the Black Lives Matter protest. Ignorant people often try to discredit the Black Live Matter movement by saying that black people are promoting the ideology that their lives are more valuable than the lives of other races. With that being said allow me to educate you.

The Black Lives Matter movement is at its core an equality movement. Numerous statistics and studies show that specifically black males are subjected and higher amount of police brutality in proportion to the brutality experienced by other races. Furthermore more black people and killed by the police than any other race. This senseless violence experienced by the African American has created a desperate need to show the world and the justice department that African Americans are people to and that their lives are just as valuable as someone of Caucasian, Mexican, and Asian descent. The Black Lives Matter is a movement that only seeks to promote equality when it comes to the treatment of people by the police.

Now the All Lives Matter Movement would supersede the Black Lives Matter movement if all races were experiencing excess police brutality at a similar rate, but unfortunately that’s not the case. Unarmed young white males are being senselessly murdered by the police, but it seems like every couple of weeks some unarmed black teen has been gunned down by the police. Furthermore if an unarmed white teenage were to be gunned down, the responsible officer would have to face serious consequences, the same could not be said for African American because it seems like the term I feared for my life makes it okay to take the life of an unarmed African American.

All in all there is nothing with the All Lives Matter because all life is precious, but there is something wrong when you use it to discredit the Black Lives Matter movement. By discrediting the Black Lives Matter Movement you are essentially saying that you view the lives of African Americans as inferior to the lives of other races, more specifically the lives of White Americas

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
