All over TikTok, I've seen girls screenshot their messages between them and their boyfriend. The messages consist of the girl saying, "I really want a coffee" or "I want to go get my nails done" and the S.O responds with "how much is it?" The girl will respond with how much it is then the boy will send x amount of money through Apple Pay. The girl making the TikTok thinks it's the sweetest thing, but I'm here to tell you it's not.
If my boyfriend were to send/give me money, I wouldn't accept it. If I want a coffee, I'll spend my money and go get one. If I want to get my nails done, I will spend my money to get them done.
Too many girls are dependent on their significant others, even when it comes to the little things. Be independent. When you go on dates, offer to pay a few times or at least offer to pay for your own stuff. It doesn't make the man seem unmasculine. It shows that there is an equal effort in the relationship. It shows that you're willing to spend your own money to spend time with them.
Buying someone a gift/gift card is different than just giving them money. With a gift/gift card, there's actually some thought put into it. "What does he/she like or wear?" Giving someone money just because they tell you they want something requires no thought. Not to mention, a serious relationship shouldn't even be based on money, let alone bragging about how much money they spend or give you. If you really love someone and are serious about being with them, where you go for a date and how much money is put into it shouldn't matter.
