I really enjoyed the spring concert. On Friday ,all I heard during the day was T-Pain and Waka Flocka Flame being played throughout campus. It helped set the mood for everyone that night. The concert began at 7:30 p.m. in the Sports Complex. The line was pretty long by 7:30, and people kept coming in even at nine. The stage multi-level stage was lit up with different colors.
There was a VIP section for the Coffee Concert House students who helped organize the event. They even got to meet Waka and T-Pain beforehand. I got to admit, I was sort of jealous. It would have been pretty cool to get a picture with each of them. They seem like pretty cool guys.
First Chris Borelli came on stage with a lot of energy. I was surprised to find out that he is a Stonehill alum. It must be nostalgic for him to have been back on campus. I thought that was great to have him come back and perform. He kept the crowd excited and had a great flow. He was a great opener.
There was a break before Waka came onto the stage. He was such a great entertainer. He consistently moved around the stage and interacted with the audience. It was exciting to hear him do covers of other songs as well as his own songs. People went nuts with excitement. I was in the middle of the crowd, and everyone was jumping up and down, feeling the music. I think people were pretty satisfied with Waka's set list.
T-Pain ended up being amazing. He had such a great stage presence and looked like he was enjoying himself. It was strange not hearing him with autotune, but he sounds better without it. It looked as if he was lip-syncing some of the songs, too. He sang a lot of his hits, and everyone sang along.
There were a ton of Snapchats of people getting a close up of T-Pain. In every snap I saw, he was smiling and making use of the stage. T-Pain was full of excitement and had such a different vibe than Waka Flocka. People still responded to him in a great way. I think Waka was a good compliment to T-Pain's performance. He kept people entertained until the end of he concert right before midnight. It felt like time went by so fast because the hype went from the beginning to the very end.
It was such a fun event and many people enjoyed themselves. Overall Chris Borelli, Waka Flocka, and T-Pain were good choices. Thank you, Stonehill College, for keeping students entertained. I truly appreciate all the work the school puts into their events. I am excited to see who will be coming next year.
