About two years ago we went our separate ways for the very first time after many long years of friendship. We both, sharing one commonality, were heading off to college where we both knew we would do so well. Our colleges, which were placed at opposite sides of the state, made 100 miles feel so very far, yet very close at the exact same time.
I was scared without you, but I knew that our futures were bright and our dreams were big.
So now, two years later, as we enter into our junior year of college, I want you to know, you are still my very best friend. You are still the friend that I go to for everything, even though it seems like we don't text as much as we used to. You are still the person I trust the most and the friend that I would do absolutely anything for. Even though you have a boyfriend and I am still swinging solo (insert laughing emoji's here times 10,000), I don't consider anything to have changed with our friendship. Although we don't get to see each other as much as we used to because of work and college, we still share a bond that will always remain unbreakable.
It's rejuvenating to know that no matter where we end up in life (maybe one day we'll be separated by thousands of miles), I can promise you that you will still be my very best friend.
With that said, I have one last thing to say.
Thank you for pushing me to be the best person I can be, always.
Thank you for encouraging me to go out of my comfort zone and not to give up, even though I had 10,000 reasons to (freshman year sucked LOL).
Thank you for knowing when I was scared and uncomfortable and talking me through it.
Thank you for making sure I always knew you were proud of me and my accomplishments.
Thank you for always reminding me that God loves me.
Thank you for always being a true friend. For always being honest with me; for always telling me how it is.
Thank you for always being my person, regardless of the distance and time.
Thank you for showing me what a true friend is.
Thank you for giving me every reason to believe that there still are good people in this world.
Thank you for having a heart of gold, always.
But most of all, thank you God for blessing me with my very best friend, always keep her safe, happy and never let her lose sight of her goals and dreams.
