10 Activities To Do On A Snow Day To Still Have Fun

When do we ever have a snow day? Well in college life you will get there eventually. During high school, everyone was so excited when the snow came, however, college students had a whole new battle. Usually, colleges don't cancel when it's snowing so its also a surprise when they do cancel. But hey who doesn't love a day off?

Whether a class canceled or the university itself closed? What if it's too freezing to even leave your house or dorm? There still are things you can do at your house to have fun during a snow day!

1. Try to make a home made meal

Don't we all love food? Well its always a good thing to learn how to cook! Who said cooking isn't fun? When you have a day off you should attempt cooking because even though it can get messy you will get the satisfaction of knowing how to cook a certain dish and wont have to rely on other sources of food.

2. Make a cup of coffee!

Instant coffee is just the bomb on a cold day. Try to skip starbucks for one day and make some coffee at home.

3. Spend time with your family!

If you live in a dorm this one can be hard but you also have the option of calling your family. For commuters this one is the easiest. Often time we get so caught up with college and work that we can't spend a lot of time with family. So a snow day is a perfect excuse to spend time with your loved ones.

4. Do that one thing you been holding off!

Isnt it just so fun procrastinating? Well we all have that one thing that we can never do but we always think of. That one thing could be cleaning your room or going through email and cleaning out junk mail.

5.  Catch up on all the work you need to!

Shocker? well catching up on all the work you need to could really help you in the long run. Often times during the week your able to procrastinate little assignments or readings. A snow day really is a perfect day just to catch up on readings, assignments, and study.

6.  Binge watch that new show on Netflix!

Don't we all love catching up on shows? Some which we watch a whole season in one day? A snow day is just another nice way of saying: "Netflix and chill."

7.  Play catch up with your friends!

We all get really busy during the week, so when a snow day comes you can text the friends you need to talk to and play catching up on each others life.

8. Plan your month!

I thought this list was about fun things to do during a snow day! Its always fun to see a visualization of how your month will look for. Also you can have fun by creating the outline of the month like you want.

9. Get started with cleaning!

Don't we all dread cleaning? Or don't we all just wish it was clean without doing much work? Well you can always have fun cleaning and in the end you will be satisfied with the results.

10. This IS your chance to sleep in!!

Finally the satisfaction of just turning that alarm off with no worry of getting late. A snow day is a perfect day to sleep in but don't spend the entire day sleeping!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
