Falling behind in school is a lot easier than it seems--especially when you're too busy obsessing over the weekend or whatever Netflix show you're binging at the time.

I've fallen victim to this many times now and what I've learned is that procrastination and being unorganized are my two biggest de-motivators. Don't let yourself fall into that trap as well.

Get a planner and write down all of your assignments, tests, quizzes, and other important dates.

This way, you can plan your week and begin to work on things ahead of time. Avoiding procrastination is key.

Stay on top of updating your calendar.

I personally use Google Calendar and find it extremelyyyyy helpful when I'm trying to keep track of work/school/everything else.

Get yourself into a schedule.

Whether it's just a study schedule, or a schedule that includes multiple other things too, it will help you. Waking up at a similar time most days of the week will also help you, so pick a time and stick with it!

Do not deprive yourself of a break.

Go out, go to breakfast, go to the gym--whatever it is you do to take a break, don't deprive yourself of it. Earn it, but still take into consideration that some days might need more breaks than others.

Go to class. Nine times out of ten, that is what will make or break your grade.

I've seen so many people miss out on great grades simply because they lack in participation points or attendance points. Don't let that be you.

Basically, all I'm saying is that it's a lot easier to stay motivated and organized when you can clearly see your end goal--so shine a light on it and make it happen!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
