Starbucks now offers existing and new customers a refreshing drink in the evening. It's not just any ol' drink though ladies and gentlemen! They are now serving wine and beer! Make sure to stop by for a crisp and fruity glass of Chardonnay or a cold glass of IPA with espresso foam. What more could one ask for? They are even perfectly paired with small plates of cheese, crackers, meats, flatbreads, and popcorn!

Now, this could go two different ways. Either the company does really well with the new products, or the company turns upside down.

Starbucks could do really well with the new selection of food, wine, and beer. Here are some pros for the expansion:

Broadens menu.

Starbucks is well known for listening to their customers feedback and comments. Now, there is a little something for everybody!

Attracts a different cliental.

Not everyone is a fan of coffee and tea! Some people like to add a little spice to their evenings. Some customers had no reason to go into Starbucks. But now, people 21 years and older can hang out and enjoy quality time with friends.

Convenient.

We all know there is a Starbucks on pretty much every corner. Looking to hit up a close bar before a party? A little hot outside and need something to cool you off but a restaurant is too far away? Starbucks solved your problem.

Embracing European culture.

Cafés in Europe offer meals and alcohol. Starbucks has recently tried to incorporate their exciting lifestyle and foods into their American culture by adopting some Europeans recipes. For example, within the past year, Starbucks created an "affogato" style frappuccino which is an Italian spin off of an espresso dessert in Italy.

Starbucks is adapting to the new American lifestyle that is fast past but still enjoys quality foods and having fun. They are also creating customer value and maintaining customer relationships by listening to their customers' insight.

There is also some downfalls to broadening their menu:

Brand loyalty.

Starbucks is known for the quick and quality experience and products of coffees, teas, and pastries. Some people may feel as though the brand and identity of Starbucks is changing. These may decrease the customer value and overall "Starbucks" experience.

Different cliental.

Regular Starbucks drinkers usually visit the store in the morning before work. Now, Starbucks has targeted a new market segment. This may shift the overall culture of Starbucks.

Overall, my personal opinion, is that the the new products should really benefit Starbucks. I am excited to see how the companies sales go, if the existing customers remain happy, and if the new market segment enjoys this new launch! Let me know your thoughts!

If you are 21+ stop by and give their new products a try!

Have a great week everyone.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
