I Stand With Chip And Joanna, Do You?
The Magnolia Story

From amazing house transformations, a plethora of Shiplap and their adorable family, Chip and Joanna have risen to national fame. Not only are their design talents and creative ability admired by millions of viewers, but so is their relationship. The Gaines family's HGTV hit television series, “Fixer Upper” has easily become one of the “greatest HGTV shows ever produced.” It exhibits wholesome values, is full of real life moments, and has lots of joy. Many young adults have even put Chip and Joanna Gaines on the list of #goals, hoping to find the "Chip to their Joanna."

Bottom line, the Gaines' solid Christian morals and love for life make this couple one of the greatest television couples of the decade. Who knew fixing houses and making people’s dreams come true, would become so popular amongst a society that is in a downward spiral?

Recently, Buzzfeed writer, Kate Arthur, wrote an article attacking Chip and Joanna Gaines' affiliation with their church and friendship with Pastor Jimmy Siebert, who believes that homosexuality is a sin. Does anyone else see how incredibly hilarious this statement it? Newsflash to Kate Arthur, many churches believe that (gasp) homosexuality is a sin; which by the way is found in the Word of God, which devoted Christians read regularly. While the argument for this article may not focus directly on the dispute of whether homosexuality is a sin, it is an article attacking Christians (shocker, again) and their unwelcome presence in the media. Kate Arthur, here's another piece of news for you: Chip and Joanna's affiliation with their local church isn't a new piece of information, in fact, it would be what your life's work would refer to as "old news."

When will the media stop addressing Christians' beliefs as though they are foreign, boring old concepts that should be tossed aside for new, culturally acceptable morals (or, lack thereof)? You may be wondering why the "Fixer Upper" stars' beliefs and church attendance are being scrutinized? Well, the answer is very simple: they have risen to national fame, and anyone who doesn't like Christians and/or doesn't have anything else better to do with their lives, finds the need to bring them down.

Arthur's Buzzfeed article trying to publicly destroy the image of Chip and Joanna Gaines is just another example of the power, influence, and annoyance the online news forum has on the public. Since when are we considering Buzzfeed News to be a reliable and credible source of information? Whether Arthur and the rest of the team at Buzzfeed want to admit it or not, their attempt to destroy the image of the Gaines family, "Fixer Upper," Pastor Siebert and their church, has failed. Why? Well, Chip Gaines tweets it best.

I stand with Chip and Joanna. Do you?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
