The Stages Of Getting Ready For Date Night As Told By Friends

When the excitement of a night out with a special someone is on your mind, your friends will be the first to know.

They'll help with every last detail of the big night, from the location to the outfit and even the person you're going with. Friends know you best, after all.

Sit back, relax, and let your squad do the hard work. They'll be there for you.

1. Making the plan.

Whoever brings up the topic of a date gets to make the plan and decide what to do — it's tradition. But it's just as exciting no matter what end of the decision you're on.

2. Breaking the news to your squad.

When you've got a date, your bestie is the first to know, obviously.

3. So. Many. Questions.

Where are you going? What will you wear? What's your bae's life story?

4. And so begins the journey of selecting the perfect outfit...

Warning: this may involve shopping, raiding your BFF's closet, or breaking out your new pair of heels.

5. And hairstyle...

Leaving your hair down is a classic look, but an occasion such as this deserves more than something basic.

6. And makeup.

Pinterest is basically your new best friend. And Sephora.

7. Confirming plans as the excitement begins all over again.

Yes, this is actually happening!

8. Making extra sure to get plenty of rest the night before.

Beauty sleep is an essential part of preparing for an occasion such as this, so don't forget to catch some z's.

9. Waking up as gracefully as every other day...

That was sarcasm — waking up is never graceful unless it happens in a Disney movie.

10. Until you remember that it's date night.

Round 3 of excitement begins!

11. Checking the clock every few minutes as the day drags by.

Work/school/etc has never gone by so slowly.

12. Getting pumped as you're getting ready for the big night.

You've got your outfit ready, your playlist on, and your besties on speed dial in case of a fashion emergency.

13. Shaving extra thoroughly so your legs can be as smooth as your flirting skills.

Or waxing, if you're dedicated.

14. Finding your favorite bra for that additional confidence boost.

Guys will never know what a big difference a simple bra can make.

15. Finally getting the hair, makeup, and outfit combo just right.

You can breathe a sigh of relief knowing the hard part is out of the way.

16. Checking yourself out in the mirror one last time before bae picks you up.

"Yep, I look perfect."

The squad would approve.

17. Your heart beats just a little bit faster when you hear the knock on the door.

Now the real fun begins.

18. Riding that endorphin boost all the way through the night.

Whether you're chatting over drinks or dancing the night away, it'll be the time of your life.

19. Reporting to your besties as soon as you're home.

Not that they've been stalking you on snapchat the entire time anyways.

20. Making plans for the next date.

And maybe even the wedding.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
