Studying abroad is something that most college students have to decide whether or not to do. For me, the choice was easy. I knew I wanted to go abroad since basically sophomore year of high school. I've compiled the stages of studying abroad that I'm sure many people are experiencing right now.
1. Figuring out what country to go to
This is probably the hardest decision. Do I want to go to France or New Zealand? Well neither of those have programs that will work with my major, back to square one.
2. Finally finding a program that's perfect for you
OMG!! Prague has the perfect program and all the classes I want to take will transfer to relevant parts of my major!
3. Applying
And now the wait begins. Checking your program account hourly to see if your application status has changed. The status bar seems to be perpetually stuck at "In Progress."
4. Getting your acceptance letter
YASSSSSS!
5. Submitting all the correct paperwork
WHY DOES MY VISA HAVE TO BE TRANSLATED TO CZECH? WHERE AM I EVEN SUPPOSED TO DO THAT?!
6. Time to pack
How am I supposed to fit 5 months worth of clothes in one suitcase?!? My shoes alone will take up one suitcase!
7. Leave
The moment you've been waiting for has finally arrived. You get on that plane and just sit back, relax, and enjoy the fact you're about to begin the experience of a lifetime.
