There are many songs that have been known to tug on your heart no matter how many times you listen to it, for example, Celine Dion’s "My Heart Will Go On," or Phil Collins’ "You’ll Be In My Heart," but I think we can all agree that Adele is the queen of emotional music. When she went on hiatus and made a comeback, I don’t think the world realized what we had been missing until we were blessed with "Hello." Here are the emotional stages a person goes through when listening to Adele’s music.
Denial
“Is this happening? Is she really singing about this? This isn’t happening. Am I crying? No. This isn’t happening.”
Anger
“No one can sound this good and be this emotional all at once. I used to never like sappy music. What is happening to me?”
Bargaining
“I cannot believe this is making me think of my ex. I wonder how my ex is. I should text and ask. No, never mind. Oops, I hit send. Oh god, they're typing. I’ll just say it wasn’t meant for them.”
Depression
“Oh my gosh, I was so happy while I was in a relationship, and now I’m just sad all the time. Adele understands me.”
Acceptance
*all the tears*
