A Comprehensive Guide To What It's Like Going Out As A College Senior
Michael Discenza

After a long week—or in some cases three days—of classes, exams, and group projects, going out to the bar with your friends is an absolute must. Besides the fact that it’s an easy way to destress, have a little fun, and meet tons of people, going out is a part of the college culture. As senior, you want to take advantage of nights like these as much as you can. And while sometimes the nights can go a little off plan, usually, this is what a night out in college looks like.

4:00pm: Finally done with classes and in need of a nap before the long night ahead.

5:30pm: Wake up groggily from a semi-decent slumber and emerge into the kitchen to scrape up something for dinner. (obvi, one with a lot of substance)

6:30pm: Start texting everyone you know to see what time they’re going to the only fun bar on campus.

6:45pm: Congregate with the roomies to figure out the best plan of action for the night

7:00pm: Turn on some Netflix because let’s be real, you’re going to procrastinate the long transformation ahead as long as you can.

8:00pm: Peel yourself off the couch because your eager roommates start blasting music as the cue to get the f**k ready!

8:10pm: Turn on the straightener/curler and start diving into the production that is makeup.

9:15pm: Throw your entire dresser drawer on your bed in search for the hottest yet most comfortable outfit to strut your stuff in—challenge of the night.

9:30pm: Start getting harassed by your impatient roommates to hurry up because you’re so obviously procrastinating the drinking process.

9:35pm: Synchronized shots and busting out the best dance moves you’ll shimmy out all night commences

10:10pm: The dreaded “the line is out the door” text comes as you scramble to put together a bag for the night.

10:15pm: Leave the apartment, as you now start feeling some type of way, to hit up the hour-long bar line.

11:00pm: Finally getting inside in the bar, ordering drinks, grooving to the music, and chatting up every person you see. This is your time to shine!

12:30am: You’ve hit a wall; your feet are swelling, you keep swaying, and nobody around you are speaking coherently.

1:00am: You round up the troops because the bar is closing and it’s time for the best part of the night.

1:15am: You and your crew stagger into the closest pizza, fast-food, greasiest place on campus and order a regrettable amount of food.

1:45am: Huddling around your kitchen table, the paramount part of the night commences—ravenous eating until it ends with everyone in a comatose, zombie state.

2:30am: You stand up in your spent state of mind, body, and soul and ship yourself off to your bedroom for a rough night of sleep.

11:00am: Everyone surfaces from their bedrooms and slouches on the couch for an hour of rehashing the night and eventually crawling to get much-need bagels (as if our 1 am pizza wasn’t enough).

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
