6 Stages Of Your Fall Semester, As Told By 'The Fairly Odd Parents'

As the days soar you are now probably drowning in homework and there is no surprise that the fall semester can bring on a lot of emotions, luckily we are halfway there! we have almost checked out and winter break is quickly approaching. However, we still have a little while to go, but in the meantime, here is a look at the fall semester that is perfectly described in the following phases.

1. Syllabus week.

by some miracle, the Gods of college students everywhere have created one week of the year where we don’t yet have to give a shit about anything and while it's a huge joke, no one takes it forgranted because its a week of doing nothing.

2. Midterms.

the time of the semester where you get to study the material all night and forget all of it the next day. and let's be honest, you will hardly study for it since the final will be majority of your grade.

3. Cuffing Season.

ahh cuffing season, this is the part of the semester where chaining yourself to another person through the season becomes the latest trend as the window for finding a cuff buddy runs from Halloween weekend until Thanksgiving.

4. The mental breakdown ( or two..).

college is a high-stress environment and it always seems like as soon as you hit the middle of the semester you get slammed with assignments and it feels like trying to stay afloat at sea while every little thing in life weighs you down to your breaking point(s)

5. Holiday break.

we look forward to this part of the year the most, what could be better than escaping papers and exams to be home to good food and your own bed?

6. Finals.

the final countdown!. you will definitely find students late at night in the library double-fisting caffeinated beverages, and cramming only to forget everything they just studied AGAIN.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
