March 20th is the official start date for the spring season. You can start feeling the effects of spring already. The weather is warming up and the sun is out almost every day now. You can see students outside having a picnic and enjoying themselves. You can also see students enjoying spring break on campus.

This year, Easter is going to be celebrated on April 1st, which is April Fools Day For those that don't know, April Fools Day is dedicated to pranks and hoaxing.

Spring is a time to enjoy and spend time with family. It signifies the halfway point of the semester. Spring is a time to relax. Not all the time do you have amazing weather and beautiful flowers to smell. Anyhow, these are the 11 points that prove that Spring is the best season.

1. Sports

In Spring season, we have college baseball and softball under full swing. And who doesn't want to watch softball with the beautiful weather outside.

2. Clothes

We finally get to wear shorts and comfortable clothing instead of boots/jeans. Unless you live in New York... then you still have to wear jeans.

3. Weather

The weather turns from cold to sunny. Who doesn't enjoy some nice weather?

4. Flowers

Signs of spring coming, is the beautiful flowers blooming. I love smelling the beautiful flowers around my campus.

5. Strawberries

I realize you can get strawberries anytime of the year, but the season of strawberries actually starts in April. That is when they taste the best.

6. Cinco De Mayo

Most people mistake Cinco De Mayo for Mexican Independence Day, but we actually just celebrate the Battle of Puebla.

7. Easter

Easter is always fun for picking up eggs and spending time with family.

8. April Fools

This year we celebrate April Fools on Easter! You can play pranks on your family while picking up eggs.

9. Ice Cream

You can finally enjoy some ice cream out in the sunny weather.

10. Spring Break

Students get a week off for spring break to enjoy life.

11. Summer is coming

When spring is over, those are signs summer coming. Summer is fun, if you have no responsibilities.

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
