When Spring Has Finally Sprung

It feels too good to be true.

When Spring Has Finally Sprung
National Geographic

Spring is one of the greatest seasons of the year. The wind in your hair, prospering plants, chirping birds flying about, and the thought of summer just around the corner. How could someone not adore it? Here are a few things that occur when spring has finally sprung into action...

Style

It is clear when you walk into a store in March that spring is closing in. All the stores are filled with all sorts of pastel colors and paisley patterns. These colors and patterns are much more calm and light compared to the dark and warm fashion in the winter season. Denim is also a huge hit once spring areas. Denim jackets, skirts, and capris are all the rage. Floral patterns, as well, are a given due to all the blossoming plants.

People begin to care more about their lawns

Once all of that pesky snow has melted, small blades of grass that were once green emerge. The early months of spring are important to people who want those blades to go back to being green. Fertilizer, garden hoses, lawn mowers, racks, shovels and more are all out in yards trying to improve the appearance. For those who care but are slightly incapable of lawn care maintenance, there are several businesses who provided services to upgrade your lawn.

Smell

With spring comes an interesting smell. Some days it is the smell after a fresh rain. Others it is the crisp air that isn’t too cold. An earthy, dirt smell even appears and it is magnificent. Winter has no smell, so once spring arrives your senses are heightened and truly fall in love with every scent.

People start cleaning everything

Spring is a time to clean just about everything - it is a great thing. It’s the time to get rid of the jeans, tennis shoes, and whatever else that hasn’t been worn in awhile. Even if you absolutely love it and feel like you cannot bear to part with it, if you haven’t worn it in four years, thrown it out. Or donate! Donating your old stuff is a good tax break, too. This season is also when people realize summer is not too far away and kick their workouts and diet back in gear. Oh, and don’t forget about the cars. Be sure to get to the car wash early, folks.

The days get longer

Spring gives you a glimpse of the long, warm summer nights. And it is so glorious. The days stay light longer and seem to last just a little longer, too. Granted, there are not extra hours in a day during spring even when we need them desperately. The allusion is still nice though.

Birds and blossoms

Waking up to lovely, little birds chirping at your window is a clear indication that spring is coming or already arrived. They fill our trees with new nests and fly about the air, just as excited with the weather as we are. The grass, leaves, and flowers all begin to sprout and blossom, making the spring season very picturesque.

Urge to be outside

GO OUTSIDE!!! This season is very persuasive when it comes to that idea.

Spring bring many enjoyable things such as the nice weather, blooming plants, growing grass, and the tiny creatures roaming about. The season overall has a lightheartedness to it and that’s why it is so great. I don’t think it is just me, but with spring time comes an inexplicable joy.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.

And despite her sometimes harsh words, April truly cares about the people she's closest to. These are all reasons she is the epitome of a college student. 11 Ways To Live The Best Life You Can

Life is full of twists and turns, but you have to keep going.

Life is all about twist and turns, sideways and which ways. Nothing is permanent, so we should take risks, and chase our dreams. We are taught at a young age many lessons that will follow us into adulthood. What we aren't taught is how to feel, and how we handle those emotions. We just have to figure them out ourselves, and that's not fun. In my 21 years of living, I have come to know that way too many people can't handle emotions, or the fact that not everyone is dead inside like them. When you're like me, and you have zero control over your emotions, it's hard to feel comfortable around people who aren't so in touch with themselves. As much as I would like to feel nothing at times, I've accepted who I am and the fact that I can cry over practically nothing. So, there are some things in life that you just have to do.
