So no one exactly raves about spending spring break on campus, especially when the weather is cold and gloomy. We scroll through Instagram and Snapchats to see our peers on beaches in Miami, Cancun, Jamaica, you name it- and suddenly you've got a sad case of FOMO, fear of missing out. But don't fret! There are plenty of ways to enjoy your Spring Break on Campus!

Get your nails done

Pamper yourself! Getting a manicure or a much-needed pedicure could be a great way to relax after weeks of typing away.

Check out all the cool spots in your college town!

As a Temple student, I often don't have the time to venture into the cool and niche parts of town, Center City, Olde City, South Philly, Northern Liberties etc. This can be an opportunity to utilize the local public transportation to check out some really cool spots.

Go thrift shopping

If you're low on cash but eager to add to your closet, check out your local thrift store! Your average thrift store should have clothes, household items and art for a low cost.

Catch up on movies and TV

School breaks can be a great time to catch up on all the shows you normally may not get the chance to check out when you're piled up with papers and exams. Take the time to watch or rewatch all of your favorites.

Read

Catch up on your reading list! If there are any books, articles that you always put aside for another time, take some time to get cozy with a book.

Get organized

Get your syllabus in order, work out your gym schedule, meal prep. Get your life in order in advance before coming back to classes.

Spring Cleaning!

Has your room turned into a tornado after weeks of jumping up at 8 a.m. and rushing to class in sweats? Use the week to clean up your room, dorm, or apartment little by little. Sweep, mop and wipe down all the spots of your home that normally get neglected. Maybe invest in some candles to set a relaxing and sweet smelling atmosphere.

Try out some new recipes

Stuck at home in the cold? Stock up on supplies at the grocery store and try out some new recipes. Since the dining halls are likely closed, use your kitchen to your advantage to make some tasty meals that will last all week.

Apply for jobs and internships

Get ahead of the game and apply for summer jobs and internships. You'll be glad that you started so early later.

Set some goals

Make a list of things that you want to come true by the end of the semester. Spring break is about halfway through the semester, and a great time to re-center your intentions and manifest some positivity to finish strong!

Last but not least, get some sleep!

And of course, get some rest! Catch up on Zs! Sleep in and take advantage of the lack of morning classes and responsibilities.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
