10 Thoughts We All Have The Week Before Spring Break

The week before Spring Break can be tough. Dreaming about the beach can be a huge distraction, especially when it's freezing cold outside and you have three papers due before the end of the week. Here's 10 thoughts we all have before we leave for break.

1. I know I already have a few bathing suits, but I definitely need at least 4 more so I can wear a different one every single day

2. I need to figure out a way to tone every muscle in my body and get awesome abs in just 5 days

3. My skin hasn't seen sunlight in, like, 3 months *applies self-tanner aggressively*

4. Even though I haven't worn this top in 4 years, I should definitely pack it just to be safe

5. Oh my gosh I literally have more work to do this week than I have had all semester *makes a rad beach playlist instead of catching up on homework*

6. Forget reading for fun...my Nicholas Sparks' book will have to wait until I finish two novels and write a paper for class due the Monday after break

7. There is not enough coffee in the world for me to make it through this week alive

8. I can't eat Chipotle this week because I have to save all my money for gas and sunscreen *frantically searches for a Chipotle coupon*

9. After Spring Break there's only one month left in the semester a.k.a it is basically almost summer

10. Why is Spring Break only one week?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
