With only four years to try what seems like an endless amount of restaurants in State College, it’s safe to say I always like trying something new. Being the OrderUp fanatic that I am in addition to being wiped after our last home game this year, I found myself looking at the featured page on OrderUp for a restaurant that delivers.
After a recommendation from a friend, I decided to go the BBQ route and selected Doan’s Bones after hearing it was the bee’s knees, and I’m happy to report this is accurate.
My meal consisted of a pulled pork sandwich, baked beans and mac and cheese, all which were delivered to me within 30 minutes! Amazing. The pulled pork sandwich was hands down one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating.
With an array of barbeque items including pulled pork, brisket, ribs and chicken, this place is a meat lover’s paradise. The restaurant also offers up hot sandwiches, a build-your-own hoagie option, nachos, soups and chili, salads and variety of sides and dessert—gimme that half baked pint of B&J too please.
While I wouldn’t say the Mac and Cheese was better than my mom’s homemade recipe, overall my meal didn’t disappoint. If you’re missing your country routes or are just feeling some BBQ, Doan’s Bones Barbeque is an excellent choice.
