For anyone who loves music and is an avid listener, there
are two trendy apps
most people choose from to get music: Spotify or Pandora. Pandora used to be
the “go to” app to listen to music. However, over the past few years, Spotify
has made an appearance and is slowly gaining popularity over Pandora.
Pandora is a free streaming internet radio. You can type in any artist, genre or song and Pandora will create a station for you to listen to that consists of songs by that artist or similar music from other artists. Pandora only provides the option of shuffling the songs on the station and you never know what songs are going to play.
Spotify can also create stations for you, but they raised the bar to another level.
Spotify has two options: sign up for free or get the Premium package. If you sign up for free, you get all the perks that you would for Pandora. Although, when you’re on your computer you can pick and choose whatever song you want to listen to. Can you do this with Pandora? Nope.
If you choose Premium, you are no longer stuck with shuffling music on your phone or device. You’ll always have the ability to choose the music you want. The only downside to getting Premium is you have to pay for it. For some people, it might be worth it. But the free option still proves superior to Pandora’s.
In the battle between Spotify and Pandora, Spotify is turning the tide in its favor.
