From the best music, scene and great drinks to random encounters and no sleep, SplashHouse was the time of my life.
Some of you may be familiar with producers like Flume, Chromeo, A-Trak and Oliver Heldens. Well I got to watch them perform for three straight days and all for less than a hundred bucks. Not only did I see them tear up the turn tables, I got to meet them and party with them too. The whole thing was surreal, the music was too good, I've never danced more in my life. If you weren't there, you have no damn clue what a pool party is like when done the right way, this was my experience.
I went to SplashHouse expecting to have a good time. I was so wrong. This was one of the best weekends I've ever had!
My two friends and I arrived in Palm Springs on Friday evening, tired from the drive, I didn't really feel like going to The Hard Rock Hotel to party, but it was our first night and with just the right level of anticipation, I found the motivation to drag myself off the Motel 6 bed I was sharing, into the one hundred degree heat, and into the club.
The place wasn't cracking right when we got there around 7:30pm, but it was still pretty early. The lackadaisical atmosphere had me thinking it was gonna be a long weekend. One thing led to another and as soon as I knew it, Oliver Heldens himself was right in front of me, mixing, producing live and literally partying with us. From then on out, I was a believer.
After Oliver, Motez started doing his thing and we took a few pictures of him tearing up the tables and wrecking sh*t. Let me just reiterate, if you know anything about EDM, you know that these artists perform at places like Coachella and EDC, in front of tens of thousands of people who pay hundreds of dollars to see them from hundreds of yards away. Those of us who went to SplashHouse got a front row ticket for the price of a pair of new Chubbies. Unreal.
The next day was even better. Bikinis and Deep House all day, with nobody to stop us, the party was amazing. Flume performed, then we went to another resort called El Saguaro, where the party continued. The whole thing took place in three resorts over the course of the weekend. Hard Rock was the most popular and most crowded, but also the most fun.
I can't summarize the entire experience in this article, too much happened in too short a time. I learned that it's okay to branch out and leave my comfort zone, to try new events and don't jock big-name events like Coachella so hard before trying other events. If you want the absolute best bang for your buck, go to SplashHouse, party with the best, go crazy. Just one last thing, its 21+ only, sorry kids.
